With this year’s Winter Olympic Games currently being hosted in Vancouver, British Columbia, researchers are warning athletes that the use of Viagra, generic viagra or other forms of erectile dysfunction medication could cause them to fail drug tests.
These E.D. drugs work by changing the way blood flows in the body. To treat impotence, the drug must allow blood vessels to relax and widen and thus allow more blood to flow to the penis, causing an erection. In theory, the widening of the blood vessels could improve the blood flow to the muscles of these Olympic athletes allowing their muscles to operate more efficiently, thus giving them a performance advantage.
At this level of performance where the difference between sucess and failure is measured in such small amounts, erectile dysfunction medication could be seen as an unfair advantage. So for all our Maxidus customers out there who are planning to compete in London 2012 – you have been warned!
